Recently I had the pleasure of using a brand new energy saving website made by Microsoft. Their new ‘hohm’ service allows people to create a free account (took me like 2 minutes to make) that will give information on how you can save money on your home expenses through tasks as simple as turning your computer on . The site also has information on more complex systems such as Tankless water heater support.
The site is really easy to use, and allows the user to customize the information he is she gets by zip code,, by how large your home is (in sq. feet), and when your home was built. For me it said that I could save up to $380 a year if I used the recommendations Microsoft Hohm gave me. Microsoft Hohm offers valuable Energy saving information on bothhome energy and home appliances. I think this site is a great tool because it is very user friendly and tells you exactly what you need to do.
Microsoft Hohm can be followed via twitter or facebook, they also have a cool looking blog set up. I will definitely consider some of the recommendations HOHM gave me and you should to.
