Many Americans don't consider traveling to the California Baja (in Mexico) but it is actually a very cool place. Recently I had the opportunity of meeting someone who went their this summer.
They told me about a group of Beach Conquistadors who basically live in the beach for a week or two. These people find a nice spot on the Baja shangri la and buy some fish from local fishermen. Then they just cook the fish, drink some Pacifico Beer, and surf.
I was actually surprised people still do vacations like that. It is a very cost effective and nature oriented way of vacationing. So next time you go on a trip, you may want to consider Baja shangri la and chill with the Beach Conquistadors and sip some Pacifico Beer.
